isaku is a labour of love and a promise

Crafted over a period of more than 3 years, a lot of research, testing and iterations have gone into creating isaku, a natural pro-aging skincare brand that combines the best of nature and science to give you highly effective skincare that make your skin glow with health and beauty, no matter your age.

Inspired by her struggles with sensitive skin and inability to find products that could undo the damage caused by aging, our founder, Dr. Jayati Talukdar, has poured her heart, soul and years of learning into formulating and bringing to you natural and efficacious skincare products  that help you look and feel your best.

isaku means Beauty Maker in Japanese

When we started thinking of a name for our brand, we knew that we wanted a name that sounded beautiful when spoken, looked beautiful when written and meant something beautiful. A name that is simple, lyrical, melodious and soothing.

Based on these criteria, we shortlisted 32 words that we thought could be the name of our brand. We looked for different words signifying Beauty, Beautiful and words related to Beauty in all languages in the world because nature has no boundaries, and, we thought, neither should our name.

After a lot of thought, the list of names was whittled down to 5 words that we could use. We kept saying those 5 words aloud again and again (I am sure we sounded like a broken record) until we realized that isaku is the word that we loved the most.

 When we did more research into the name, we found that isaku is also said to mean, ‘A very spiritual person who often relies on intuition for decision making’. Which is also a good thing because nature, spirituality, and intuition are all pathways to a Higher Power.

...and so  was born!

  • The background white of our logo signifies purity, innocence, wholeness, and goodness.
  • The gold stands for luxury, sophistication, passion, magic, and wisdom.
  • The orchid on the top of the logo, in shades ranging from purple to the lightest pink, signifies love, agelessness, beauty, elegance, symmetry, and strength. 

Our History

The 90s
Sometime in the 90s, when our founder, Dr. Jayati Talukdar, was studying for her MBBS, she told her mother that one day she would create a skincare line that actually worked and helped people. But our founder had no plan or idea when or how she was going to do that. It was as if a wish was put out to the Universe without any expectations
2006
She consulted many doctors practicing all kinds of medicine (allopathic, ayurvedic, homeopathic) but there was no solution and she reconciled herself to the fact that she would not be able to use any anti-aging product on her skin. Dr. Jayati then started using products she would concoct at home, using ingredients found in the kitchen (milk, turmeric, fruits, vegetables) and on the internet (Vitamin C and E, Coenzyme Q10 etc). So it continued for quite a many years...
2016
While on a beach vacation, sipping a drink by the sea, Dr. Jayati had an epiphany. If she really wanted to help everyone who asked/asks for her advice, she needed to scientifically formulate her own line of products which were natural and effective.
2005
In the early 2000s, as our founder Dr. Jayati Talukdar, entered her 30s, she started noticing fine lines and wrinkles on her face. She bought all the different products from other high-end brands but the results were the same - no reduction in lines and wrinkles and sensitive, inflamed skin.
2012
As Dr. Jayati Talukdar entered her 40s, the home-made products had stopped being as effective as before. The Reason - The skin requires more potent products in your 40s. And the problem with using raw ingredients is that unless they are formulated in the right way, they do not penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin where they can actually make a difference.
